Extend the Life of Your Favorite Reed
Finding a great natural cane reed is not easy. Once you do, it can begin to warp, crack, or lose responsiveness after only a few hours of playing.
Reed Renew was developed to help extend the life of natural cane reeds used by clarinetists, saxophonists, and other reed players, helping them stay stable, responsive, and ready to play longer.
Reed Renew is a reed conditioning serum designed to help protect natural cane reeds from drying and cracking while maintaining their natural flexibility. By helping keep the reed properly conditioned, Reed Renew allows the reed to remain flat, moist, and responsive.
Professional musicians who tested the formula report that their reeds often last three times longer than untreated reeds, without affecting playability, tone, or response.
Kenny Robinson created Reed Renew after investigating alternative uses for several of our ingredients and responding to requests from professional reed-playing colleagues. As with our other products, he researched the science, collaborated with chemists to develop the formula, and tested it with musicians in real-world playing conditions before introducing it to the public.
Reed Renew uses a proprietary blend of coconut oil, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, and BHT (an FDA-approved food preservative). The formula gently penetrates the cane fibers, helping the reed remain conditioned, supple, and less prone to cracking.
Many musicians also appreciate the mild peppermint flavor.
Directions for Use
After playing, lightly brush a small amount of Reed Renew onto the reed using the included brush before placing it in its case. Make sure the serum covers the playing surface of the reed.
(Double reed players do not need to apply the serum between the reeds.)
After several applications, you may find that your reed remains conditioned and ready to play without pre-moistening.
Final Note
