Sara Petokas

Horn Performer & Educator

Indianapolis

Sara Petokas is an active performer and educator based in Indianapolis, specializing in both modern and baroque horn. She holds degrees from Mansfield University (B.M. in Music Education) and the Eastman School of Music (M.M. in Horn Performance) and is completing her Doctorate in Horn Performance and Literature at Indiana University.

Sara is Fourth Horn with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and performs regularly with ensembles such as the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, West Virginia Symphony, and Columbus Symphony Orchestra (IN). She also teaches as Guest Lecturer of Horn at Wheaton College and serves as the Lead Teaching Artist for El Sistema Indianapolis, providing music education to underserved communities.

A founding member of Flower City Brass, Sara has toured internationally and performed as a fellow at the Aspen Music Festival. She is passionate about high-level performance and music education, making her a perfect advocate for Robinson’s Remedies Lip
